METAL STEM & Threaded bowl |
Forecaster Turbo Flo produced by the National Briar Pipe Company USA. Retailing at $1.50 the spare bowls were 69 cents each The Turbo Flo is an cast aluminium stem with a central tube like the Falcon. The bowl takes a Falcon reamer, but does not have a Falcon thread, neither does it exactly fit Viking bowls. The mouthpiece is conventional rubber and when obtained had a cut down Medico inline filter inside. A nice one that may, or may not be one, of the models involved in the Falcon copyright dispute in 1954-55. The system is certainly one of the closest to the Falcon. In the casting under the bowl are the words TURBO FLO 6 Nov 1956 US Patent # D179,116 |
