The vulcanite stem is threaded at the inner end to lock it in place when in the shorter position. With C.P.F. in an oval beneath the word TELESCOPE in the side of the stem it indicates originates from K B & B , later to become Kaywoodie. They took over the Consolidated Pipe Factory (est 1851) in 1883 The metal collar is marked with a pseudo hall mark and CPF. It does not appear to be silver, perhaps brass |
