CY Benz had a total weight of one ounce. The tobacco is burned in a stainless steel bowl, which is heat dammed so that cake is not formed under normal smoking conditions. There is a double bowl outlet to resist clogging and moisture and 'gunk' is trapped in the body of the pipe below the bowl.
The body and shank are machined from one solid piece of dural, making the pipe virtually unbreakeable. There are no screw threads in this pipe. The fins dissipate the heat to give a cooler smoke. The bit is of vulcanite
Maybe should it read C C Benz as US patent 147,315 Aug 19, 1947 seems to suggest
